TIPS FOR CHOOSING A PERFECT WHITE SHIRT FOR WOMEN

There are obviously a couple things to look for in a white tee. For me, the perfect white t-shirt is:

1. Not see through.

You are able to wear it with a nude bra underneath without feeling like everyone can see everything.

2. Not super expensive.

With three young kids, a white t-shirt is bound to get effed up Flattering. I want just the right amount of body-graze without my pooch or any rolls being highlighted by a bad drape or fabric.

3. Comfy.

Anything itchy or too tight need not apply.

Best Splurge

No one does luxe basics like The Row (we’re currently drooling over the brand's cozy cashmere sweaters), so it’s not a surprise that the Olsens' take on the white T-shirt doesn’t skimp on details, like a silk-trimmed back seam.

Best Value

At $8 a pop, you can’t beat the Hanes classic. The cotton, polyester, and rayon-blend features a heart-shaped V-neck neckline and a left pocket. But don’t worry about those irritating construction tags; this style is tax-free. Buy in bulk.

Best Boyfriend

Borrowing from the boys is nothing new, but sometimes you want your own perfectly proportioned oversize tee—is that too much to ask? Well not according to the Rag & Bone designers, who have crafted their own baggy boyfriend T-shirt from 100% cotton.

For wearing with a necklace

This pre-shrunk, V-neck tee elongates your torso and is subtlely sexy. Size up for a more relaxed look.

Best Cropped

This Alexander Wang tee has a shorter hem and relaxed cut, making it the perfect partner for high-waisted jeans and skirts.

Over the years I’ve accumulated more than a few white t-shirts but I’m always on the hunt for the best white t-shirt EVER. So I asked YOU, ordered a ton, and did a very scientific try-on ;). I wore the same jeans for each pic but changed up my shoes to show you how versatile a white tee + jeans can be if you just change up the kicks. I also shot each t-shirt from the front untucked (top left), from the side untucked (top right), from the front side half tucked (bottom left) and from the front side-knotted (one of my favorite ways to style a tee, bottom right).

For that boxy vintage look:

RE/DONE X Hanes 1950’s Boxy Crop Tee

Small and boxy, crewnecked, lightly structured, and subtly cropped at the waist and the arms. This is the tee you imagine you could find at a vintage store for $15, but will not. You’ll never regret owning this, even though it may seem expensive. It’s absurd, you’ll probably say to yourself, to spend $80 on a simple tee. But hear me out: These T-shirts are the retail equivalent of no-makeup makeup. These are T-shirts that will pull together an entire outfit handily, no matter what you are wearing — they’ll elevate jeans, and even out skirts and fancy pants. And most importantly, these are T-shirts you can wear almost every day.

Make Good Impression On Your First Day At School With 14 Back-to-school Tips

Starting college is a daunting experience, and your first day can often be the most daunting. But it doesn’t need to be! While many people think that the first day is the most stressful, we’ve come up with some tips to make sure that your first day is as fun and as easy a transition into college life as possible.

1. Prepare early

It would not be great to go school supply shopping the night before the first day. A few weeks before school starts, make a list of what you need for school

If you get a supply list in the mail, follow it. If you don't, write out what you think you need. (Note: you may have to return to the store to get a few more items after school has already started). Set a budget, and head off to the store. This is more fun with a friend.

Some ideas are binders, notebooks, pencils, pens, erasers, correction tape, paper clips, lined paper, pencil crayons, highlighters, etc. If you can, reuse some things you still have from the previous school year. It is best to start fresh with new supplies.

2. Get some more clothing items.

Again, make a list of what you want/need. It's also more fun to go shopping with a friend, sibling or another family member.

A list of what you might need includes the following:

At least 2 pairs of new jeans (one dark wash and one light wash is probably a good way to start)

You may also want some new sandals/flip flops if it's warm where you live or if it's getting chilly, you may want combat boots or Ugg boots. (Toms, Converse, Vans, and Keds are also good choices).

Try having 1 pair of gym shoes, and 3 good pairs of shoes you can wear to school. If you already have these shoes, you probably don't need to purchase more.

You should make sure you have enough undergarments that fit well, as well as tank tops. You should get new back to school shirts, like flannels, t-shirts, long-sleeve shirts as well as hoodies and sweaters.

3. Eat a healthy, hearty breakfast

You don't want to be hungry throughout the day.

4. Pack your lunch or gather lunch money

Everyone needs to eat lunch, or they will be hungry later. Be sure to look at the school lunch menu for the day before deciding on ordering school lunch, though, to make sure that you'll be eating something you like!

5. Take a note of the rules, and obey them!

Disobeying rules are the quickest way to get in your teacher's bad books. Rules are there to be obeyed, and you might find yourself in detention if you disobey them.

6. Say hi to people and smile!

Being friendly is the best way to make new friends. But don't overdo it, you'll end up being a creep or the weird girl/boy of the school. Just remember, act natural and be yourself!

7. If you have your own group of friends already

Don't act too exclusive or clingy. It'll make others feel intimated and they'll start judging you or just avoid you completely all together.

8. Make a school year resolution and stick to it

That way you'll be more organized. For example, always keep a diary on you!

9. Explore your campus!

Once you’ve unpacked and made yourself feel a little more at home, go and explore your new surroundings! Whether you head straight to figure out where your classes will be or you’re more interested in seeing the recreational facilities, try to orient yourself and see a bit more of the campus. You’ll be feeling at home in no time!

10. Don’t spend your first night alone.

And no, before you get the wrong idea, we are definitely not suggesting that you hook up with someone on your first day! Whether people on your halls are going to a party or they’re all staying in with a chick flick and some popcorn, be sure that you’re not in your room alone the first night. Even if you’re really tired, go and meet some new people before saying you’re super tired and need some sleep.

11. Meet as many people as possible…

Be prepared to meet as many people as you can on your first day. Everyone is going to be smiling and keen to make new friends, so be sure to take advantage of this! Don’t judge anyone yet, and don’t automatically decide who your friends are going to be—just take it easy and play it by ear.

Just be sure that you introduce yourself to as many people as you can! Whether you go around your hall knocking on doors or are just hanging out with people who knocked on your door, be sure that you spend time with other people who have just moved in.

As your students enter your classroom for the first time, stop each one at the door and say hello. Smile, look them in the eye and introduce yourself.

This simple act puts nervous students at ease and sends the message that you care about them. It’s also a quick and easy way to begin building rapport and reciprocal kindness.

14 THINGS TO KNOW TO PREPARE FOR THE NEW SCHOOL YEAR PART 1

12. Be kind

Be kind to the teachers even if they aren't that nice to you. It may seem ridiculous, but it can make the difference between a good year in that class or a bad year! Just remember, you will have that teacher for a year! And being friendly can make people view you differently.

13. At break times, enjoy yourself!

I'm sure by now you will have found many new friends, so hang out with them! Suggest games that you are certain that everyone will enjoy, and smile a lot! Smiling lets people know you are enjoying their company, and they will want to spend more time with you. Plus, everyone looks better with a (genuine) smile.

14. Be positive

It may seem like High school is the most annoying thing and the worst part of your life, but it's not.

Your first day, and in fact the entire Welcome Week, is a very stressful experience—and many people don’t have the best time. But it's okay! You’ll settle in soon, especially once you’re in the routine of classes and have met people with similar interests in your classes and through the extracurriculars that you choose to join. Try and make the most of your first day with these tips, but don’t panic if it isn’t perfect!

5 EASIEST TIPS TO WAKE UP YOUR KIDS IN THE SCHOOL DAY

All summer, we let our daughter stay up until 9PM. She read, played on her tablet and then fell asleep… as late as she wanted. Then, she slept in until 7:30AM, lay in bed and then pulled on some play clothes to lazily start her day. It’s what summers are for, right?

But when school started, our mornings became one chaotic mess. It’s so hard to wake up kids for school! I constantly nagged her to get out of bed, reminded her to stop playing or questioned if she was ready to walk out the door.

An exciting back-to-school shirt as a gift will keep their kids get up early every day as the first day?
Let’s read more to find some tips to well-prepared and bring their back to school!

1. Prep the Night Before

We understand there’s hardly enough time in the day to finish today’s tasks, especially if you start preparing every night for tomorrow’s busy morning. But nightly preparation by both the parent and child makes it much easier to get out the door the next morning. For parents, make sure to decide on a healthy breakfast for the next morning, pack all lunches, finish looking over homework and do anything else that can help your child have a more productive day.

  • Plan outfits ahead of time.
This strategy tops lots of parents' lists for a reason. Lay out clothes for the next morning (or even the next week), and preempt any debates on what's considered appropriate school attire.

For children, a few preparations that are key to an easier morning include laying out tomorrow’s clothes, having the book bag packed and ready to go and making sure your alarm clock is set before bed.
  • Keep backpacks packed.
Besides putting homework away ahead of time, professional organizer Janet Bernstein has her kids' phones charge on top of their backpacks each night, so they never forget them. "Implement this rule, and you've also solved the 'no devices in the bedroom' argument," she says.

2. Make Sure Your Kids Get a Good Night’s Sleep

Depending on your child’s age, he or she may need anywhere between 8 to 12 hours of sleep each night in order to have the happiest, most productive day possible. Typically, younger children need more sleep. Children ages 5-12 usually need anywhere between 10 to 12 hours of sleep per night, whereas children ages 12-18 may need a little less sleep ranging from 8-9 hours a day. Every child is different, though, so make sure to monitor your kid’s early morning behavior to determine if he or she is getting too little sleep.

Limit devise us: As adults, we know its hard to fall asleep when you’re not tired – and it’s definitely the same for kids.

When we start making their bedtime earlier, our rule is only to be in bed by a certain time. If my daughter’s not tired, she can always read a book, but no electronics

3. Get Back to the Routine.

After months of staying up late, you can’t go to bed earlier before you begin waking up earlier. So, at least a week before summer vacation ends, start setting the alarm clocks.

Begin with a wake-up time that is about an hour earlier than usual. For example, if your 6-year-old goes to bed at 9 p.m. during the summer and needs to get back to an 8 p.m. bedtime for school, begin by waking her up at 7 a.m. instead of letting her sleep until 8. Then try inching her bedtime back the next night to 8:30 p.m. On day two, wake her up at 6:30 a.m. and aim for an 8 p.m. bedtime.

4. Get a few new school items to wake up your children for school.

Do you remember the joy of using a new backpack on the first day of school? I remember jumping out of bed because everything I had for school was new and exciting. A cute new back-to-school shirt absolutely makes your kid jump out of her bed. Our kids feel the exact same way. But here’s the parenting ninja part, we don’t allow her to use any of her new items until the first day of school. This creates anticipation and excitement to jump out of bed the first week of school.

Novelty is your friend when trying to get your child back on a decent wake-up schedule.

5. Let natural consequence take over

At some point during the first week of school, or maybe the second, your child may start sleeping in again. That is completely normal. In fact, I hope for it.

We can only do so much for our kids. While we can help them plan and show them the way to be successful, it’s ultimately up to them. After we’ve set the groundwork, we need to step back.

If your son sleeps in and misses his breakfast, he will feel hungry until lunch. If your daughter doesn’t get out of bed and then lacks the time to brush her hair, she will have a tangled mane the entire school day. Maybe, one of her friends will ask her about it, and she’ll probably feel hurt.

We need to let our kids make these mistakes and feel the consequences. That is the only way we stop nagging. By letting them experience the consequences, our kids will be more self-motivated to get out the door in time.

By providing a groundwork of adjusting their bedtime, making kids aware of expectations and giving morning incentives the first week, we are doing our job as parents to make the transition back to school as easy as possible. Now, it’s up to our kids to take it from here with gentle reminders from us.

You can show your kids that you know – and care - that getting back into a routine may not be fun. But also let them know that the schedule change from summer to fall is meant to help them feel good when they are at school. “It comes from a place of love and education about the importance of sleep, and not control,” Spivack says

4 Secrets to Choose The Best T Shirt for You

The best t shirt is the quintessential casual wardrobe staple for everyone, especially men. So let’s make sure you look amazing while wearing your favorite unique design t shirt. In this guide, I’ll show you how all your clothing should fit – regardless of your age or body type.

Make sure your favorite unique design t shirt actually fits you!

The problem with poorly fitting T shirts is that they're so painfully obvious. T-shirts are some of the more revealing tops a man can wear, and if they do not fit your body, it's painfully obvious.

Few wardrobe staples need to be worn so carefully, and many men spend their entire lives trying to find the elusive "best-fitting" t-shirt.

But what does it mean for a t-shirt to fit ideally? We'll demystify that for you. Today, that means four things. The shirt should be:

1. Slim fit.
Basically, as slim as you can get without showing off too much or feeling like a second skin.

2. Sleeves should hit before your bicep.

Ideally, the sleeves shouldn't billow out in any way and should follow the arm downwards.

3. The hem should hit at about the belt line.
Doesn't hurt to be slightly longer, but any shorter might be a bit revealing. You can carefully choose the T shirt’s length.

The shirt should end somewhere between upper to mid crotch. I would rather it be closer to mid-crotch than upper-crotch because this avoids showing stomach when reaching up for things and allows it to be lightly tucked into the front of your belt/pants to break up your proportions – if you want.
Get T-shirt layout ideas
4. This is mostly just a fit thing, but a constricting neck is never comfortable.
Avoid it at all costs, as you always want a shirt with a collar that will lie flat.

• Rew's necks are pretty standard, but just make sure it doesn’t fit too tight around your neck, or too loosely. If the collar looks stretched out or you can see some of your shoulders when wearing, that’s too loose.

• If you’re wearing v-necks, you need to avoid deep all costs. Man cleavage is just… no. Some brands will have deeper v’s than others, so be wary of how deep it is. Just make sure the bottom point of the “v” doesn’t go past the top of your armpits and you’ll be fine.

As for materials, we prefer ours at least mostly cotton, if not 100%. We don't hate the ones that add a bit of elastane or spandex for a comfortable stretch. However, T shirts labeled with "Pima" or "Supima" cotton use a special kind of cotton called extra-long staple cotton, which is named after the Pima Indians in Peru and is grown primarily in that country, Australia, and the Southwestern US. It has a reputation for being soft, durable, and absorbent.
